Building Wealth: A Biblical Perspective on Social Wealth.

Social Wealth: The Power of God-Ordained Connections

When we talk about wealth, most people immediately think of financial riches. However, true wealth extends beyond money—it includes relationships, connections, and the people God places in your life. Social wealth is the foundation of influence, support, and opportunities, but not all connections are beneficial. The right kind of connections—the God-ordained relationships—are what truly elevate and sustain you.

What is Social Wealth?

Social wealth is the value of your relationships. It includes:
Friendships that uplift and support
Mentors who guide you in wisdom
Business and career networks that open doors
A strong faith community that strengthens your walk with God

Your network determines your net worth, not just financially, but spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. However, the wrong company can lead you into destruction (1 Corinthians 15:33 – "Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’”).

Not All Friends Are Good for You

Not everyone around you is meant to stay in your life. Some people come as divine helpers, while others are distractions or even destiny destroyers. The Bible gives many examples:

  • Jonathan & David (1 Samuel 18:1-4): A friendship ordained by God, where Jonathan helped David despite being King Saul’s son.

  • Delilah & Samson (Judges 16:4-21): A relationship that led to Samson’s downfall because Delilah was a tool of the enemy.

  • Job’s Friends (Job 2:11-13; Job 16:2): They initially came to comfort him but later discouraged him and accused him falsely.

Before investing deeply in any relationship, ask yourself:
Did God send this person into my life?
Is this relationship bringing me closer to or further from God?
Do they encourage my growth, or do they drain my energy?

The God-Kind of Connection

The right relationships bring favor, wisdom, and blessings. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." These are the types of connections you need:

1️⃣ Divine Helpers

These are people God places in your life to help you achieve your destiny. Think of Joseph in prison—his connection with Pharaoh’s cupbearer (Genesis 40:23; 41:9-14) led him to the palace.

2️⃣ Destiny Partners

These are people who push you towards your purpose. They encourage, pray for, and challenge you to grow in faith. Example: Mordecai helped Esther recognize her purpose (Esther 4:13-14).

3️⃣ Spiritual Covering & Mentorship

God places spiritual leaders in our lives to help guide us. Elisha followed Elijah (2 Kings 2:9-10) and received a double portion of his anointing. Seek godly mentors who align with your faith and purpose.

How to Attract & Keep Godly Connections

🙌 Pray for divine connections. Ask God to remove the wrong people and bring the right ones. (Psalm 37:23 – “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.”)
💡 Be discerning. Not everyone who smiles at you is meant to be in your life (Matthew 7:15).
📖 Stay in the Word. God’s wisdom helps you identify the right and wrong relationships.
❤️ Be the right friend. Proverbs 18:24 – “A man who has friends must himself be friendly.”

Final Thoughts: The Value of Social Wealth

Social wealth isn’t just about having many connections—it’s about having the right connections. Your relationships can either push you toward your destiny or pull you away from it. Invest in God-ordained relationships that uplift, inspire, and align with your purpose.

🚀 Prayer: Lord, I ask for divine connections that will help me grow spiritually, financially, and emotionally. Remove every wrong association from my life, and bring me people who align with Your purpose for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
